At last we have some bright sunshine and pretty strong winds. This should be helping to dry the course out but as we have all seen along has come the snow!
The course is slowly drying out but it looks as though it will be the end of next week before it is dry enough to get machinery on the course to cut the ever lengthening grass.
There is a chance the course could be open this Sunday for members only if the ground stays frozen, so we could at least get some golf in. An inspection will take place at 8am Sunday morning. but the grass is long.
Almost every ball hit down any fairway would result in an embedded ball rule 25-2 and a dozen balls could easily be lost if the ground softens up!
So we will have to stave off the utter frustration for a while longer … it will open properly this month … we hope.
