The Club

Introduction from the Captain

Back in 1976 the course was described as an American styled course with large white-sanded bunkers and greens that had such speed that they resembled putting on glass. The quality of the suspended water table greens, which were built with the same soil system as The Augusta National course (home of the US Masters), are still the envy of the majority of visitors.

The actual golf club was established officially as Telford Golf Club on the 12th January 1977 with written permission from Telford Development Corporation. The initial fees to the club and complex were £100 joining fee + £100 PA. It was September 1981 before the current hotel and clubhouse was completed and opened.

10 million pound investment by QHotels finished in 2008 has seen this now Spa Hotel become a prestigious 4 star luxury complex. There are still members who have been with the club since it was first formed over 35 years ago and they are Ralph Williams, Prab Gajjar and with Lady members Susan Gregory and Gill Sheward.
